The Quiet Anchor

You support so many—who supports you?
In the spiritual realm, I am infinitely supported by those who came before me— my ancestors. Source energy. Yes, this support is beyond the human eye. Yet, it’s an undeniable energy felt deeply in spirit. I am who I am because of those whose existence preceded my own. I gracefully sway in the arms of my Spirit Team. Asé.
In the physical realm, I am blessed to have a supportive circle of friends who feel like family and family whose love feels ineffable. This worldly support grounds me when it feels like everything around me is crumbling to pieces. I hope the humans in my life know that my love for them exceeds physicality. I am happy to know each and every one of them in this lifetime.

What does nurturing look like in the small, everyday moments?
Solitude. Good company. Movement. Stillness. Breath of life. Bodily nourishment. Cannabis. Nature. Creating whatever I feel. Being whoever I feel. Talking. Listening. Love letters to myself. Crying often. Laughing often. Practicing the art of whimsy as often as possible. Fasting— from screens, processed foods, humans. Honest conversations with myself. Honest encounters with God. Trusting God. Therefore, trusting my nature. Being inspired by deep soul desire. My life is a pendulum, swaying every which way and somehow I end up exactly where I should be— at the center.

Why do you choose to show up, even when it goes unnoticed?
I show up because I have to. Not for the sake of survival but for the sake of alignment. Every area of my life is in deep alignment with the essence of my spirit. Being noticed or celebrated is a beautiful feeling. I would be denying my humanness if I exclaimed otherwise. But because alignment is my source of self-regard (not the latter), I show up even when I don’t want to. The after-affect is heavenly.

What do you wish people understood about your role?
Understanding is a funny concept to me, actually. I spent what feels like light years hoping to be understood only to be met with the contrary. Needless to say, understanding is a thing I no longer seek. Shit, some days I don’t even understand myself. But I don’t need to. Nor do you.
The other day, I stumbled upon the following declaration as I completed my morning yoga session: “The Universe has no obligation to make sense to you.” - Neil deGrasse Tyson. Hearing these words was balm to my soul. Permission for my nervous system. I am the Universe. You are the Universe. So we have no obligation to make sense to the world. The need to make sense of the world let alone ourselves can paralyze our ability to carry on. And carry on we must.
With all that said, as I am actively positioned in the epicenter of my role— I myself sometimes can’t make sense of it. But what is very clear to me is the role that I play is as fluid as they come. I am formless like the clouds whose shape somehow simultaneously has no shape at all. I can be anything in any given moment. I can be anyone at any given moment. If you needed to understand anything at all about me, it would be this.
- When do you feel most seen?
I feel the most seen when I am in conversation with my soul. This usually occurs during moments of deeply penetrated flow state— meditation, conversation with the cosmos (yes, I speak to the air, haha), making music, and writing. As deeply as I have searched (and found), I have come to realize that unearthing the whispers of my spirit is the Holy Mecca. I am always in awe of what she has to say.
