Do THIS as soon as you get out of bed.

Do Not Scroll:

Oooh I know this is a hard one but, man does it help. Set your phone the night before across the room. I mainly do this so that I’m forced to get out the bed to shut the alarm off. I’m usually up at 5 AM but I used to be the type to lay in bed for hours until it was time to work. I lost time. I ended up rushing everything. I became overwhelmed by how much needed to get done with the little time I had. I didn't get to enjoy my morning or even breakfast or anything. I had to get straight to work. Now you've lost time, time to yourself. Time to do the things YOU want to do. And for me, that meant taking a nice morning walk, having a nutritious breakfast, meditating, spending a little quiet time, anything.

Scrolling in the AM makes us lose focus. We’re too busy looking at what other people are doing that we often neglect ourselves. We tell ourselves “okay I’ll only scroll for 5 minutes” but the algorithm is too smart for that. LOL. You’ll be on your phone for 30 mins and you haven’t even brushed your teeth yet. How can you get any of your business to grow or dreams to come true or your goals to be met if you’re minding other people’s business???

My rule of thumb is: Consume 10% of the time and create 90% of the time.

When you clutter your mind with the screen, your own goals become less important. We also get lost in everyone’s world that we lose a sense of self.

Drink a Glass of Water:

Sometimes one ain't enough. Prep it from the night before so you are conditioned to drink it as soon as you wake up. Simple. Our bodies tend to get dehydrated when we sleep. Room temp or make a cup of tea. Wake the body up and rehydrate. Your organs and skin will thank you later. I use this as a habit to trigger other habits, such as taking my supplements. If I’m going to drink water I might as well take my probiotics/vitamins while I’m at it. We can be quite forgetful with such a busy life. We live such busy, hectic lives, school, family, friends, goals, and aspirations, and we forget to drink water. Water helps flush toxins from the body from all the junk you ate the night before LOL.

Here's an easy trick I use to get 8 glasses of water in:

  • Drink 2 glasses as soon as you wake up.
  • Drink 2 glasses with breakfast.
  • Drink 2 glasses with lunch.
  • Drink 2 glasses with dinner.

8 glasses. Done. 6 glasses are cool too.

Affirmations:

Replace this with scrolling. If you reach for your phone, put your affirmation directly in your Notes App. This will is a better way to reprogram your attention to the things that matter and help you stay focused. We are a product of your environment right? Your environment is also what you read, hear, and see on a daily. Your affirmations can be anything you want. Fill your mind with positive thoughts that will benefit you, get out of bed and move around in a way that sparks productivity and mindful habits. If you want to change something about yourself or the world, write it down, and tell yourself each day and night that "I am...".

One of my affirmations is "I am touching lives and TERRA-TORY is becoming a household brand." And guess what...I'm also sure if you're reading this, the brand has affected your life in some shape or form.

TRUST ME IT MAGIC.

  • Love this! The water schedule is the best! this is a great reminder to put ourselves first. it seems so simple, but as humans we forget as we get caught up in the hussle. Thanks for the gentle reminder that selfcare is worth our precious time.

  • Sis!!! This!!! I am not a huge social media person, but it does rob me of my time. I can’t honestly say that it’s robbing me because I allow it. Though I committed to follow 100 people or less and try to not begin my day on social, I’m still not solid on putting boundaries to ensure that I am making the most of my day. This was a beautiful reminder. Exactly what I need to shove me towards the balanced, grounded woman that I am (and what to become). Many thanks! Peace, light and blessings.
