Mastering Seasonal Shifts: A Comprehensive Guide

Based on your lovely feedback on our survey, we continuouly read your responses and we take our time considering many factors when building the brand.

Instead of releasing something new each month, we take our time using 'seasonal ingredients' that are in abundance for the 'season'.

For example, Soursop and Persimmon are gone until November.

But the good news is, harvesting ingredients such as Carrots, Plantains, Aloe and Seamoss and Oatmeal is all year round for us.

Hence why our offerings will always be available for you, here

I also love reading your emails. They don't only keep me inspired and focused, but I love the connections we make. So please, keep them coming. :)

As the seasons change, our bodies, minds, and skin can be affected in various ways. It's important to be mindful of these changes and take steps to support ourselves during the transition. Here are some tips on how to navigate the seasonal shift with ease.

How does the seasonal shift affect our body and mind?

The seasonal shift can impact our energy levels, mood, and overall well-being. Some people may experience seasonal affective disorder (SAD) during the colder months, while others may feel more fatigued or sluggish. It's essential to listen to your body and mind during this time and make adjustments as needed.

What Supplements to Take During Seasonal Changes

During seasonal shifts, it's beneficial to take supplements such as Vitamin C, Vitamin D, and Zinc to support your immune system. These vitamins and minerals can help keep you healthy and energized as the weather changes. Additionally, incorporating probiotics into your routine can help maintain a healthy gut, which is essential for overall wellness. Be intentional, try getting your hands on the direct food source of these vitamins and minerals.

Vitamin D is crucial, especially during the darker months when sunlight exposure is limited. Omega-3 fatty acids, probiotics, and adaptogenic herbs can also be beneficial for overall health and well-being.

Here are some foods that you should try out this winter.

  • Soups or stews. This is one of the best food that will help you live through winter comfortably. Our Ital Soup Recipe still hits after all these years.

  • Iron.
  • Vitamin E.
  • Vitamin B.

  • Fried Foods.

Benefits of Using Natural Soap

When it comes to cleansing your skin during the colder months, opting for natural soap over synthetic soap can make a big difference. Natural soap is made with ingredients that are gentle and nourishing, helping to maintain the skin's natural moisture barrier. This is especially important during the colder months when our skin is more prone to dryness and irritation.

By incorporating these tips into your daily routine, you can support your body and skin through seasonal shifts and ensure that you stay healthy and glowing all year round.

Skincare Routine for Colder Months

As the colder months approach, it's important to adjust your skincare routine to protect your skin from harsh weather conditions. Switching from synthetic liquid soaps to natural bar soaps can reduce dryness from dry air climate by adding a layer of natural oils to the skin during each shower/bath.  Our Wild Heirloom Tomato + Basil Soap or Persimmon + Oat Milk Soap are both great options. Consider using a richer moisturizer to keep your skin hydrated and prevent dryness. Our Multi-Purpose Body Butter or Omega body oils are great for the night stand or on the go. Don't forget to exfoliate regularly to remove dead skin cells and promote cell turnover. And always remember to apply sunscreen, even on cloudy days, to protect your skin from harmful UV rays.

In other news:

As most of you know, or don't, each purchase you make, $1 of each item goes to supporting the Save The Children Emergency Fund. This organization works to provide emergency relief, health and nutrition, education and protection programs in the lives of children around the world impacted by the conflict of war. This includes the US, Africa, Asia/Middle East, Europe, and North & South America. I'm proud to announce, we started our pledge August 4th 2024, and as of today we have donated over $800! Thank you! As long as their are children, we will continue to pledge.
