Soapmaking at Harlem Grown

Soapmaking at Harlem Grown

This past Saturday, we headed to Harlem Grown, a community garden in Harlem, NY, to teach a soap-making class — and it might be one of our favorite days as a brand yet.

Working alongside Rosa, the program director, and the Harlem Grown community, we demonstrated how to make our tomato soap, using produce grown right there in the garden. There's something different about making soap with ingredients you can point to and say "that came from right over there" — it's a reminder of why we started making things by hand in the first place.

A huge thank you to Rosa for reaching out and organizing the class, and to Harlem Grown for the work they do bringing garden education and fresh produce to the community. If you're in NYC and want to learn more about their programs, check them out at Harlem Grown's website.

We've got photos and video from the day on our Instagram and Threads — go take a look, and let us know if you'd want to see more classes like this.
