Staying Well on Sabbatical
THIS POST WAS ORIGINALLY SHARED IN OUR EMAIL NEWSLETTER ON AUGUST 7TH, 2024.
It’s 9:30 pm and I’m in my bedroom, with an ice-cold glass of ice water and a probiotic. My stomach has been acting a bit funny. I just finished rubbing my son down in the Unscented Body Butter from taking a warm bath to calm my wild child down for the evening. It’s been raining a lot this week, but I’m not complaining. However, when there’s moisture, comes mosquitos, and they are relentless. Nori, thankfully hasn’t been bitten much, but his routine baths and skincare have been keeping his skin itch-free. I can’t ask for more.
I've made it my business to spend lots of time offline. Although my team has been on sabbatical, I've been still working in the soap studio to keep up with all your orders and create content for you to enjoy. How do we feel about bringing back our YT channel? I enjoy long-form content, it's better for the mind.
On the days Michael takes Nori to visit his family, I've indulged in bi-monthly cupping sessions. I pulled my lower back in early July and a friend recommended I get this done. It was very uncomfortable, as it was happening. But once the cups were released, I felt a dramatic difference a few hours later. The pain was gone in 24 hrs, and these lovely brick-colored rings were left behind. I wish these were permanent. Pro tip: after your massage session, drink plenty of water to flush your system (kidneys) from metabolic waste.
Being a parent and managing a business gets lonely. One way I've changed that is by nurturing my friendships. My dear friend Brianna, from Moss Medicine, came into town. We made it our duty to see each other. We had Mexican at Aldama, then let Nori run around at Domino Park. That day, was a day of healing, sisterhood, and so much laughter.
I've been upping my fat intake. In the mornings, Nori and I indulge in a frittata and watermelon with lemon juice. It's been Nori's thing all summer. Check out the recipe here. Let me know what you think!
Summer is still summering, but I'm enjoying it. I'm still using the Wild Heirloom & Sweet Basil soap this summer. I can't get enough of the aroma. We don't have many left for the season so take advantage of our end-of-summer sale (details coming soon).
Keeping this simple has created so much ease for the team and myself. It's made running TERRA-TORY smoother so that you get the best quality and experience you deserve. Less is always more. I'll be dropping in soon.
I hope you're well.
With purpose,
-Kimberly
