Fall Wellness Tips That Cost You Nothing

The Autumnal Equinox is five days away, giving us crisp air and cozier days to look forward to. Weather change inevitably influences our urge to jump into a new season, but, here’s our chance to ease into Fall. We find that how we decide to move ourselves in this climate makes all the difference in our daily lives . So, ease into your Fall. Keep calm, move at a present pace and remember: gentleness is key.

How can we shift into Fall with ease?

  • Morning Meditations: With Nori beginning daycare and Kim’s schedule readjusting, she’s looking forward to carving out space for meditation. A simple 15-20 minutes of focused mindfulness sets the tone for the day ahead and releases excess stress.
  • Tea Consumption and Hydration: Drinking plenty of teas like chai, green teas, black teas and even hibiscus tea helps us stay warm and hydrated during the colder months, acknowledging the challenge of staying hydrated in low temperatures.
  • Eat Intentionally: We’ve normalized eating with our devices on, not realizing that it distracts us from savoring the good stuff. Reducing screen time while nourishing ourselves improves enjoyment and proper digestion of nutrients.
  • Slow, Intentional Exercise: Sure, high powered exercise works but low impact activities like yoga, pilates and intensive stretching is a targeted, unhurried  approach to aligning your body with your mind.

  • Herbs That Support Daily Easefulness

Let’s face it, we’ve only got 24 hours in a day. We’re not built to accomplish everything that’s expected of us, all at once. These nutrient dense herbal supplements support our mind and our physicality from the inside out to help us cross off to-do tasks  in a realistic way.

*Keep in mind! The herbs provided can interact with prescribed medications, and could cause side effects. If this list sparks your interest, we suggest researching these supplements in depth and speaking with your doctor*

Ginseng - Combats fatigue, & enhances mental performance while improving energy.
Peppermint - Has natural anti-inflammatory properties that assist in moving our bodies.
Rosemary - Promotes relaxation and soothes our emotional well-being.
Maca - Improves our physical performance, & helps us adapt and maintain our response to stress.
Ashwagandha - Improves our memory and cognitive functions by protecting our brains from degeneration.
Lion’s Mane - Stimulates nerve growth and regeneration by supporting neuron growth and protecting against cognitive decline.

    Autumnal AM Skincare Ritual

Caring for your skin before the colder weather hits is essential and the best part is, your routine doesn’t have to be difficult. Here’s a simple AM ritual designed to layer and hydrate that barrier of yours.

    1. Add an extra layer of natural and beneficial oils to your skin during your AM shower to reduce dry and irritated skin. (hint: we’re head over heels for our antioxidant rich Wild Heirloom Tomato + Basil Soap and antioxidant packed Fresh Carrot + Turmeric Soap)

    2. Fresh out of your shower, quench your skin while moist with a creamy based moisturizer - Emollients like our Multi-Purpose Body Butter get the job done. A little goes a long way for supple skin without the grease.

    3. For an extra dosage of self care, treating your cells with Omega Body Oil locks moisture in while protecting the skin against the chillier, harsher effects of cold climate.

Try taking a few pumps of oil and massaging it into your skin, especially areas that are prone to exposure. This leaves a softening and lasting effect to your barrier, and it’s a ritual that thrives from consistency- Keep at it, your skin will love you for it.
